More about Los Chonchos

The journey starts with a taxi or bus from town, then an hour on the water taxi from Boca de Tomatlán, running twice daily, every day.

There’s no road to Los Chonchos. It’s quiet. The kind of place where the world slows down, and nature takes over. Three beaches, untouched jungle, and staff who are there when you need them.

Whales pass by from October to March, dolphins too. Rays leap from the water. The snorkeling is good—plenty of fish, the odd turtle, and an old moray eel.

On land, there’s kayaking, trekking through the jungle, and fishing in the deep sea. The wildlife is everywhere—macaws, iguanas, pelicans, and dragonflies. By night, bats and fireflies take over, and the stars shine bright. We keep the lights low; these shores are for the turtles.
